OUR STORY
We are a true Shetland brand.
We are employee owned.
Everything is made by us here in Shetland.
Shetland Woollen Company has a rich history which dates back to 1923, when the original company L.J. Smith began trading in woven and knitted goods. The label of Shetland Woollen Company has been knitted here since the 1950s. Now we are one of a few remaining knitwear factories in Shetland and are very proud of our heritage, where we are and what we do.

We use a blend of traditional techniques, modern technology and hand craftsmanship to create our knitwear.

Below is a short video to show the many different processes that go into making a jumper here.
Our new look, brand and logo has been greatly supported and created by Ross stopper over at Hot Gecko Media.
The photographs used on the website are by photographers Martin Turner, Scott Goudie and Alex Boak. We are very fortunate that Scott and Martin are part of the team here in Hoswick. They are all very talented photographers; they capture every moment perfectly and we are so grateful to have them on board. You can keep up to date with our latest content on our Instagram Feed.
